Recently, Joanne Curtin sat down (via Zoom) with Maggie DeCan, CEO and Executive Director of The Children’s Development Academy (CDA), to discuss the mission of CDA and how local partnerships play a role in its success. The CDA is a non-profit organization in Roswell, Georgia, providing affordable early learning programs and childcare for preschool children. It holds the highest accreditation with NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). In 2015, the CDA received the highest rating from Georgia’s Quality Rated program. Their curriculum is focused on preparing children to be “ready by five” for school success.
Funding for CDA comes from community and corporate donations. 2 major fundraiser events, volunteers, and donations support the organization throughout the year. Curtin Team Cares recently donated $5,000.00 to CDA.
Their “Party on our Playground” fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, October 23rd from 7-10pm. You can stroll through their 2-acre, award winning playground while enjoying cocktails, listening to music and enjoying childhood inspired treats.
