Joanne started her career as an Elementary school teacher. Early into her teaching career, Joanne became curious about investing and building wealth. After reading the Rich Dad, Poor Dad series, she made the bold decision to leave her teaching post and move into the real estate business. Soon after, she joined Keller Williams with agents thinking big about their careers.

The Curtin Team began with Joanne selling houses in North Atlanta in 2001 and with husband Tom, they grew it into a team. From it’s start, the Team has over $620 million in home sales volume and 1,850 clients served. Growing a real estate team grew into launching a brokerage office. Joanne and Tom earned the opportunity to co-own the Keller Williams Realty Consultants Roswell Market Center after just one year with the company. That eventually grew into a mega agent team office location in the heart of their local town.

In 2018, Joanne co-founded Curtin Team Cares, a non-profit organization, as a way to assist the community in times of need. This passion for helping her local neighborhoods drives the mission to provide local support when it’s needed most and give back in her community.

 Joanne is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Masters in Education. She continues her teaching in the real estate community. Originally from Dalton, Georgia Joanne resides with Tom, their two beautiful children and dogs Fluff and Charlie in Milton.

Tom Curtin CEO
Tom is currently the CEO of the Curtin Real Estate Team. Tom began his real estate career in 2001, building the operations side of the Curtin Team with his wife Joanne. (read more)
He applies knowledge from previous marketing positions to the real estate business. Together they have built a successful Team of agents with over $620 million in sales and 1,850 transactions and consistently ranked one of the top Teams. Tom also operates a Property Management Company, manages a real estate portfolio in North Atlanta and teaches others to create wealth through real estate. Tom is passionate about investing and helping others realize financial freedom. Tom and Joanne helped launch the Keller Williams Realty Roswell Market Center which is one of the top offices in the Southeast Region. Prior to real estate, Tom managed corporate marketing and sales for DirecTV. Because of their mutual ambition, Joanne and Tom work together in building their business and family life. They strongly believe in work-life integration and coach others to do the same. Tom has a business degree from the prestigious Honors Program at the University of Georgia and is a Roswell High School alum. When not at the office, you can find Tom hiking, watching his son play soccer, or traveling.

Jess Garris Director of Operations

As the Director of Operations, Jess is deeply committed to supporting the team in achieving greater levels of success and is responsible for hiring, training, and leading additional team members to ensure all administrative tasks of each real estate transaction are completed to high standards with maximum efficiency. Her primary focus is on building, implementing and managing all systems to ensure a smooth transaction. She is also responsible for maintaining CRM/database systems, operations manuals, department budgets, and vendor management.

Jess has been a licensed agent since 2004 and has been involved in many aspects of the industry throughout her career including residential sales, new construction, title, and rentals.

When searching to make the move from Florida to Georgia in 2012 she chose Roswell to raise her family. She enjoys spending time with her talented daughters and watching Florida State football.

Christy Smith Director of Sales, Realtor

Christy is a Georgia Native and grew up in Marietta. She has lived in various parts of Northern Georgia including Alpharetta and Woodstock, where she now resides with her husband and daughters.

Not new to real estate, Christy bought her first home at age 22. Christy gets real estate at a high level and as a Curtin Team client she has purchased and sold a home with the Team before joining. After working in the corporate world for almost a decade, she wanted to turn her track record of success and love for real estate into her career. Anna Black Transaction Coordinator
Anna began her Real Estate career 10 years ago as a Realtor, helping people buy and sell homes. She quickly realized she enjoys the back end of the business more. This led her to a career as a Transaction Coordinator.(read more)
As a Transaction Coordinator, Anna strives to make sure every transaction runs smoothly and seamlessly from start to finish! She also places high importance on making every buyer and seller feel comfortable and knowledgeable through the process. When Anna isn’t working or running around with the kids, she enjoys relaxing with her family and friends. Anna and her family love to travel and explore new places. Two of their favorite places to visit are the beaches in OBX and Cape Cod.

She is passionate about serving others while also making a positive impact in the world. Kanani was born and raised in Hawaii and has lived in 7 states so she is no stranger to the moving process! She has a particular interest in helping families who are relocating to our area. Kanani lives in Alpharetta with her husband, Scott, two teenage sons, Dominic and Riley, and two rescue dogs, Hutch and Rocky. Kanani is also very involved with the Young Men's Service League and enjoys volunteering in our community with her sons. Kanani blends her business background, life coaching tools, and her commitment to serving others to help others make their best real estate move. She is dedicated to making the home buying and selling process a positive experience.

She is a Georgia native and received her law degree from the University of Georgia in 1999. After several years as a litigator, Kern discovered a strong interest in residential real estate and has been conducting closings for fifteen years in metro Atlanta. Kern is a graduate of Vassar College and received her master’s degree from Middlebury College in Vermont. Kern worked in government relations in Washington, D.C. before returning to Georgia for law school. She is married and has three sons.
