Roswell Home Refresh Project Returns for 2026 — Nominations Now Open

2026 Roswell Home Refresh Project
Every year, Roswell’s schools are filled with people who show up quietly and consistently — teachers, custodians, bus drivers, counselors — giving far more than their job descriptions require. The Roswell Home Refresh Project exists to say thank you in a way that’s tangible, lasting, and deeply personal.
Now in its third year, the project is led by The Curtin Team through their nonprofit organization, Curtin Team Cares. What began as a simple act of appreciation has grown into one of Roswell’s most anticipated community traditions — one that brings together neighbors, local businesses, and volunteers for a single day of transformation that changes a life.

How It Works
Each spring, nominations open to the entire community. Anyone can nominate a Roswell Area School District employee — a teacher, staff member, custodian, bus driver, or counselor — who has faced hardship and could benefit from a fresh start at home. Nominations are accepted anonymously and take just a few minutes to complete online. From those submissions, one extraordinary individual is selected based on their story, their service, and their need.
Then, before Thanksgiving, it all comes together. In a single day, a team of more than 20 volunteers, skilled tradespeople, and generous local sponsors transforms the recipient’s home — fresh paint, new furniture, thoughtful organization — completely free of charge.
Every service, every material, every hour of labor is donated.

A Look Back at 2025
Last year’s recipient was Toni Reeves, a special-needs kindergarten teacher at Hembree Elementary School and a single mother of two young children. Known for her patience, her dedication, and the way she meets every child where they are, Toni was nominated by one person who simply wanted her to feel seen and celebrated.
When she learned she’d been selected, Toni said she couldn’t quite believe it: “I did not believe that stuff like this actually happened. It’s like something you see on TV — and it’s actually happening to me.” That reaction is exactly why this project exists.
Nominations for 2026 Are Open Now
Do you know someone who deserves this? A Roswell Area School District employee who has had a hard year and could use a fresh start at home?
Nominations are open now through August 1, 2026. After nominations close, a recipient will be selected and the project will take place before Thanksgiving.
